I came across this interesting use for a marker (read the article below), & just had to try it out. Using a non-toxic, washable marker, I did just what this article says, I dotted it over my lips & then blended it in using my finger. Just using my finger, I blotted over all of my lips, to make sure there wouldn't be any excess that could wipe off onto something.
It seemed to work really great! ;D I figured that most of it would wipe off (I even tried lightly wiping it off), but it didn't. It left a beautiful color & made my lips look like they were just naturally that color. It also felt completely natural, like I had nothing on my lips. It stayed on for a long time, even after putting chapstick & gloss on over it, & didn't make my lips feel dried out or anything. I love that it gave color, without the feeling of lipstick.
I tried it using a regular Red Crayola Washable marker, and also a Rose Art Washable marker in a lovely shade of pinkish-berry. I liked the pinkish-berry shade the best. The red kinda made me look like I'd been drinking red Kool-aid & got it all over my lips, but with gloss over it it looked pretty good. With the wide variety of marker colors nowadays, the possibilities are endless.
This would also be a great idea to use for Halloween or any other times when you want a weird color lipstick.
Just make sure you try it out when you're not going to be going anywhere, to make sure you don't have any kind of reaction to it.
New Lip Stain: Try This at Home?
We hear that the girls over on The View recently tried out a lip stain all the celebrities know about. Here's what they do: Take a water-based red marker and dot it over your top and bottom lips. Supposedly Elisabeth Hasselbeck tried it out to great success, but as our friend Jim says, 'You better hope that one red is your red, you don't have many options.' The tip comes courtesy of Kym Douglas, author of the new book, 'The Black Book of Hollywood Beauty Secrets.' It's all about the bizarre (yet surprisingly simple) things celebrities and models do to look gorgeous. (Yes, you can buy it. Do so here, at a discount).
